Some of our clients require specialized mental health services prior to being placed with a Resource Family or transitioning into adulthood. Children, ages 11 to 17, and non-minor dependents, ages 18 to 21, who have these needs are placed in one of Quality’s residences for therapeutic treatment and to assist with core services. Our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to give our clients a place to live that provides consistent care and supervision, with everyone receiving individualized behavioral support and mental health services.
The clients of Quality Family Services come from a diverse range of economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. This individuality necessitates an individualized approach. That’s why every client entering the STRTP receives a comprehensive intake assessment which is used to create an individualized Needs and Services Plan.
Each plan is designed to meet the specific goals of the client in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed manner. Throughout their stay at the STRTP facility, the service and support the clients receive are tailored to meet their individual and family needs on an ongoing basis.
A client can expect to spend three to six months in the program on average, with more time as needed. After fulfilling the goals of their program, the client is ready to transition to a lower level of care such as family reunification or permanent placement with a Resource Family or relative(s). Quality may also facilitate placement for the client with the “Transitional Independent Living Program” which provides foster youth assistance with making a smoother transition into adulthood.
Regardless of the method, Quality’s ultimate goal is for each client to be able to maintain a stable placement with their family, a Resource Family, or to have the resources and support they need to pursue an independent living plan that meets their expectations and long-term goals.
The individualized care and treatment programs of our STRTP facilities are created for each person no matter their type of placement. Our Specialty Mental Health Services providers are trauma-informed and culturally relevant, partnering with the client’s family, the significant people in their lives, educational and medical support providers, and appropriate community resources—all to provide comprehensive quality services for the entire well-being of the whole person.
The team works to identify and implement an individualized Treatment Plan that meets each client’s physical, emotional, academic, and social needs from a person-centered, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and strength-based perspective.
It includes the client, their county Social Worker or Probation Officer, trusted parents or guardians, or mentor the client selects, as well as their Quality Administrator, Facility Manager, Case Manager, and the Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist which Quality provides throughout their program.
These include Specialty Mental Health Services, Transition Services, Educational, Physical, Behavioral, & Mental Health, Extracurricular Supports, Transition to Adulthood Services, Pregnancy Support Services, and Indian Child Services, as appropriate.
Services include mental health assessments, individualized treatment plans, individual, group, & family therapy sessions, plan development, crisis intervention, case management, psychiatric evaluation & medication management referrals, substance abuse treatment referrals, and adolescent sexual offender treatment.
