Job Summary: Full-Time (40+ Hours per Week)
A licensed mental health professional or mental health rehabilitation specialist who has been designated by a short-term residential therapeutic center licensee to oversee and implement the overall mental health treatment program in accordance with the provisions of the short-term rehabilitation therapeutic program mental health program protocol.
Minimum/Desired Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience with behavioral health care and knowledge of Community Care Licensing requirements, Continuum of Care Reform (CCR), and service delivery models are required. Applicant must possess an M.A. (PhD or PsyD preferred) in Clinical Psychology or Behavioral Sciences. Must have excellent people skills. Salary is contingent on experience and education level.
Sample Responsibilities/Duties
- Maintain the appropriate documentation of the program approval to the licensing agency and implement the specialty mental health services the facility is certified and contracted to provide
- Maintain the mental health program approval in good standing during its licensure
- Ensure the Needs and Services Plan of each child or nonminor dependent reflects any mental health needs identified in the case plan, treatment plan, or any available mental health assessment
- Ensure collaboration with Child and Family Teams is consistent with the case plan of each child or nonminor dependent
- Ensure continuity of care, services, and treatment as a child moves from their short-term residential therapeutic program placement to home-based family care or a permanent living situation through reunification, adoption, or guardianship, in accordance with the child’s case plan or treatment plan
- Ensure each child or nonminor dependent’s ability to access mental health services identified in their Needs and Services Plan is made known to them or efforts are made by the short-term residential therapeutic program to ensure access to identified mental health services, including utilization of any existing grievance processes for accessing services
- Ensure children in placement who are diagnosed by a physician, psychologist, or licensed clinical social worker as mentally disordered shall have at least a monthly consultation from a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, or licensed clinical social worker regarding the program of services
- Review, approve, and/or maintain all QFS Social Work staff assessments, evaluations, progress notes, and reports of children in placement
- Review and maintain third-party consultation reports, including types and hours of services provided
- Assist the agency in their communication and compliance with CARF and State standards to all personnel at all levels of employment in all programs in Fresno and Sacramento
- Coordinate mental health services, including training, schedule, peer supervision, reports, evaluations, etc.
- Maintain testing materials and Medical Review Team workbooks for group
- Monitor, implement, and maintain CARD and State standards and regulations pertaining to behavioral and mental health services
- Other duties as assigned
In the absence of the Mental Health Head of Service, the Program Director is the designated substitute.
